The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on June 11, 2026, notified regarding the TSDSI-Transposed 3GPP Standards as National Telecom Standards.
The following has been stated:
• The Central Government has notified a series of TSDSI-transposed 3GPP standards as National Standards for telecommunication equipment with immediate effect. The adopted standards cover multiple releases of 3GPP specifications, including Releases 13 to 18, and comprise a total of 3,587 standards documents approved through TSDSI Technical Specification Group (TSG) meetings numbered 103 to 108.
• The notification incorporates standards relating to advanced telecommunications technologies, including 4G and 5G networks, to promote uniformity, interoperability, and compliance in telecom equipment deployed in India. The adopted national standards are based on global 3GPP specifications transposed by the Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDSI), and are available through the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) for reference and implementation.
